Intentional Interim Pastor
I have been the interim pastor here since October 2018 and will be here until the next senior pastor of Shepherd of the Hills church is called and installed. Prior to serving here, I served 33 years as an ordained Lutheran pastor before being retired for the last two years. Though serving here came as a surprise, it has been a joy-filled experience. Shepherd of the Hills is a solid congregation with a great staff and very competent lay leadership.
I am a Wisconsin native and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison. While there, God grabbed my heart and I grew in my relationship with Christ and my desire to serve Him with my life. Since then I was involved in collegiate ministry for 7 years, 5 at the Universities of Maine and Massachusetts. After seminary training in the Chicago area, I served as a pastor in Omaha, Nebraska 15 years and in the Rockford, Illinois area for 18 years.
My wife, Barb, and I moved to the Milwaukee area this past July in order to be near our two adult daughters. No grandchildren yet, but we are hopeful for the first one to come in a year or two. I ride a road bike and have ridden now for 26 years. I was pleased to find a member of this congregation who leads a group of people who ride bicycles in the warm months and hike trails in the cold ones.
Once this gig is over, my wife and I will resume with whole hearts the neighborhood ministry we are praying God will initiate and grow through us.
