Revelation 21:3-4, 22-27 (NIV)
3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

22 I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. 24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. 25 On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. 26 The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it. 27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

6. List those things that won’t be in heaven. Which one(s) do you most look forward to leaving behind? For what reason?

Lord God, I am burdened by the daily news where hatred and selfishness dominates. My heart aches when I hear of people hurt by others’ shameful or deceitful behaviors. I am saddened by the hunger, sickness, pain, and loneliness of those in need. I am frustrated with the pain of sickness, the trials of aging and grieve the loss of those I deeply miss. But all these things are due to a sinful decaying world. All these things will be no longer when I live in my forever home with You, Jesus. There will be no more tears, sadness, evil, pain or death. I look forward to basking in the Joy of Your sonshine. I thank You, that You love me to have made a way possible through the cross so that I can join You in this glorious place forever. In the meantime, give me Your Hope that this is temporary and Comfort that through the trials on this earth that You are with me. My eternal home is waiting for me with You. Praise You, Lord! Amen
