Philippians 1:3-6 (NIV)
Thanksgiving and Prayer
3 I thank my God every time I remember you. 4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
I’m excited for tomorrow. Today’s probably going to be a nice day also… filled with tasks to complete, errands to run, and some time to rest… but I’m mostly excited about tomorrow. Tomorrow is the day when I get to gather with all of God’s unfinished word. You and I, we are totally and completely saved by God’s grace. Yet, at the same time, he is also, always at work in us; redeeming and restoring us ever more into his likeness. It’s a great tension that we live within: we are already perfect because of what Christ has done, yet, we are still “God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”. (Eph 2:10) As we work and rest today, consider that God is still working on you! And praise God that you are already saved by God’s amazing grace! See you Sunday!
