Isaiah 54:1-5 (NIV)

The Future Glory of Zion
54 “Sing, barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy, you who were never in labor; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband,” says the Lord. 2 “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. 3 For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities. 4 “Do not be afraid; you will not be put to shame. Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated. You will forget the shame of your youth and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood. 5 For your Maker is your husband— the Lord Almighty is his name— the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.

Have you ever come into Shepherd of the Hills on a Sunday and realized that there’s something going on in every corner of the building?  We have High Schoolers hanging out, adults sneaking in a class between services in the Fellowship Hall or Music Room (thanks Choir Member’s for working around us).  The prayer team is gathering around someone in Pastor Matt’s office and musicians are preparing to lead worship while the rest of us munch treats.  God always has more planned for us than we could imagine.  And every time we gather together – on Sundays and throughout the week – and we find we’re bumping into each other a bit, praise God that he keeps calling people to faith and leading them to this little community that we love.  Today, please pray that Shepherd of the Hills will always be a community focused on Christ alone as we worship God and serve one another.
