Psalm 147:7-11 (NIV)
7 Sing to the Lord with grateful praise; make music to our God on the harp. 8 He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills. 9 He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call. 10 His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior; 11 the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.
As you walk through today, make a mental list of all the cool things God has done. What’s the weather like? Do you have work today, or rest? Family time or solitude? Watch for the details, too. Thank God for every way he has provided for creation and all the ways he has blessed you today. And take special note: as God pours out these abundant gifts, “the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love”. (Ps 147:11) God is motivated by his love for us. That is why he seeks us out, heals and comforts, brings joy and renewal… all because he loves us. May each blessing you see this day remind you of God’s love for you.
