Matthew 24:1-4 (NIV)

The Destruction of the Temple and Signs of the End Times
24 Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2 “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.” 3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” 4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.

 

10 years ago, the iPhone was first introduced. Very few people felt they needed a phone that could check email or surf the web on their person. Times have changed. Now we are constantly looking at the next phone saying, “Wow! Look at all these amazing things!” Whether it be iPhones, cars, or temple buildings Jesus is unimpressed. Look at the stars. He did that. Look at the oceans. That was him, too! All the things we place our hopes and dreams in will eventually fade away to nothing. The only thing left standing will be God. Yet, praise God that because of Jesus we can stand alongside Him forever! While human accomplishment can and should be celebrated, it will never outshine or outlast the accomplishment of the death of Jesus on the cross for all who believe.-
