Proverbs 29:15-27 (NIV)
15 A rod and a reprimand impart wisdom, but a child left undisciplined disgraces its mother. 16 When the wicked thrive, so does sin, but the righteous will see their downfall. 17 Discipline your children, and they will give you peace; they will bring you the delights you desire. 18 Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction. 19 Servants cannot be corrected by mere words; though they understand, they will not respond. 20 Do you see someone who speaks in haste? There is more hope for a fool than for them. 21 A servant pampered from youth will turn out to be insolent. 22 An angry person stirs up conflict, and a hot-tempered person commits many sins. 23 Pride brings a person low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor. 24 The accomplices of thieves are their own enemies;
they are put under oath and dare not testify. 25 Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. 26 Many seek an audience with a ruler, but it is from the Lord that one gets justice. 27 The righteous detest the dishonest; the wicked detest the upright.

What proverbs here penetrate an area of your life?

Good, Good, Father. You love us, and like any good earthy Father, You want us to learn Your ways, increase our knowledge, and mature. As an earthly parent, I have learned that I have needed to correct my children to stop disobedient and harmful behaviors. It is easier to let them do what they want but by ignoring it when they speak and do wrong results in worse behavior. By not addressing the bad behaviors when they are children is to create selfish, disrespectful, angry adults. Out of my love and vision for my children’s future, I needed to discipline them and redirect them in healthy ways.  Lord, we are seeing this in our world today. Many of Your children are trying to lie, steal and destroy what others have out of their selfishness and pride. It must be painful to You to watch Your children fight. They can’t stand together. If left unchecked, the crimes will increase, law and order will disappear and there will be no truth. You, Father, also correct Your children out of Your love. You desire for us to mature in our faith and trust in You. This world is in need of Your correction. Guide us back to Your path of righteousness. Lord, I personally need Your guidance. Help me to recognize Your correction and learn from it. Adjust my thoughts, redirect my ways and lead me to do Your will, even if it is contrary to popular trends and beliefs. Help me to not live in fear of what others may think or do but only desire to please You. Lord, give me a confidence that comes from trusting in you and not from my own abilities or successes.  Thank You for loving me so much that You correct me for my own good. Allow me to learn from Your Word and listen to Your Spirit so that I do good in Your eyes and You are pleased with me. Lord, please help me to hear your voice. Give me a fresh revelation of Your Fatherly love for me today. Amen
