Hebrews 6:18-20 (NIV)
18 God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. 19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, 20 where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

In what/whom is our hope?
Describe the hope referred to in each text below. Think about it a while.

Your promises are the anchor of my soul. They are solid and secure. You keep Your word, even when it seems impossible, even when the circumstances seem to point to the opposite. Delays do not negate Your promises. I try to be patient, but sometimes I go down the wrong path to fulfill Your promise through human ways that I control. Forgive me, Lord, I can sure make a mess of things by doing it my way. Abraham and Sarah had to wait many years to have Your promise of children fulfilled. But even after they went down the wrong path to try to fulfill Your promise themselves, You still remained faithful to them. That gives me encouragement today. Jesus, You are the High priest forever, who has guaranteed the promises of God by Your sacrifice. Thank you, that even though I sometimes have to wait patiently. I trust that You always fulfill Your promises. Amen
