Ephesians 6:10-13 (NIV)
The Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

As we study the miracles and ministry of Jesus, we’re confronted with demons and the powers of darkness.  Yet, we live in a world where such talk can seem out of place.  So, what are we to do when Jesus casts out demons; what are we to do with these instructions for wrestling against “this present darkness”. (Eph 6:12) When the details are difficult, focus on the overarching teaching.  In these weeks we will see the power and authority that Jesus has over all things in heaven and on earth.  As we walk through life, regardless of our struggles, we can rest in “the strength of [God’s] might”. (Eph 6.10) Today, let us praise God for his power, authority, and might.
