Galatians 3:1-5 (NIV)

Faith or Works of the Law
3 You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified. 2 I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard? 3 Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh? 4 Have you experienced so much in vain—if it really was in vain? 5 So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?

Galatians 3:14 reads, “He redeemed us so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith”.  Again, at the end of this week of work, or study, or family time, or struggle, or joy… I call you back to the promised Spirit of Christ Jesus.  I invite you to take a moment to place all of your worries and all of your joys from this week at the foot of the cross.  Review them in your mind as you lay them down.  (When I do this because I’m so easily distracted, I actually set my Bible/phone down on the table and lay my hands on it.  Do what works!)  Please pray with me:  Gracious God, for all these burdens that I carry today, I ask for your help.  Show me your forgiveness.  Show me, your grace.  Please give me your wisdom in addressing these concerns.  And Gracious God, for all of these joys, I praise your holy name.  Thank you.  I am humbled and blessed.  Amen.
