Deuteronomy 6:4-9 (NIV)
4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

“What should parents/grandparents do to pass on their faith to the next generations?”

Precious Father, my love for You flows out of Your love for me. You loved me in spite of my sins, weaknesses and failures. In response to Your gracious mercy, I love you with all my heart, mind, soul, strength and all that is within me. You are my most precious gift that I desperately want my children and grandchildren to enjoy. Lord have mercy on my family. Help them know You as Lord and Savior. Help them to see Your love in the things I say and do to lead them closer to You. Give me the wisdom to share Your gospel truth with my family so that they know You and love You. Protect them from the evil one, keep them safe in this dark and evil world, help them make good choices and put people in their lives that bring them closer to You. Hear my fervent prayers. Help me to be instrumental in my family’s lives, by sharing the joy of Your salvation so we can live together through eternity. Amen.
