2 Samuel 6:12-15 (NIV)
12 Now King David was told, “The Lord has blessed the household of Obed-Edom and everything he has, because of the ark of God.” So David went to bring up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with rejoicing. 13 When those who were carrying the ark of the Lord had taken six steps, he sacrificed a bull and a fattened calf. 14 Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might, 15 while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouts and the sound of trumpets.

What are the causes of worship/praise in each situation from today’s texts?

In what ways was praise given in this situation?

What does this say to you about how we worship?  What might we add to our worship?

Your presence is powerful. David worshiped Your presence in the ark with all of his heart and all of his might. He didn’t worry about what others would think or say about him as he did so. I can imagine the exuberance of his worship and the joy exploding from his heart as he danced in praise and worship to You! I want to worship You like David. Help the words of Scripture seep into my soul and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. As I feel Your presence, allow the joy that explodes from within my heart strip away my self-consciousness, my inhibitions, my feelings of unworthiness, my quest for perfection, or any embarrassment about what others will think, and let me let loose to praise and worship You like David.  Let me sing, dance, raise my hands in jubilant worship in Your presence and may it Glorify You. Amen.
