Psalm 132:1-10  (NIV)
1 Lord, remember David and all his self-denial. 2 He swore an oath to the Lord, he made a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob: 3 “I will not enter my house or go to my bed,
4 I will allow no sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids, 5 till I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.” 6 We heard it in Ephrathah, we came upon it in the fields of Jaar: 7 “Let us go to his dwelling place, let us worship at his footstool, saying, 8 ‘Arise, Lord, and come to your resting place, you and the ark of your might. 9 May your priests be clothed with your righteousness; may your faithful people sing for joy.’” 10 For the sake of your servant David, do not reject your anointed one.

Amazon collects immense amounts of data. They know the pair of shoes you were looking at yesterday and remind you with an advertisement on your computer screen today. They use that data to make all sorts of decisions and it is working! Their CEO, Jeff Bezos, is now estimated to be the richest man in the world. The Bible is like a massive database of faith. It is filled with people who have struggled with some of the same issues we face today, like suffering, doubt, death, disease, infertility, etc. But through it all, the “data” points to one overriding truth: God is faithful. This Psalm asks God to remember David and act now just like God did for David. We, too can call out to God. That is our act of obedience. We can say to God, “Remember how you saved Daniel from the lions or Noah from the flood. Please save me, too.” The data says that you are not alone. Others have gone before you and God continues to be faithful.
