John 21:9-14 (NIV)

9 When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread. 10 Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish you have just caught.” 11 So Simon Peter climbed back into the boat and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many the net was not torn. 12 Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” None of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. 13 Jesus came, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish. 14 This was now the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was raised from the dead.

The disciples worked hard to bring the huge catch of fish in, but then Jesus calls them over to a place on the beach and makes them breakfast. Even then it must have been pretty dark still and they could not see very well, because verse 12 says that no one dared to ask, “Who are you”? But instead of getting all the fish ready to sell in town, they sat down with their Lord. They let Jesus feed them from the fish they had caught. If you are reading this right now you are taking time to let Jesus feed you! What a tremendous gift that is. Jesus strengthens us and feeds us with His words and promises and the presence of his Holy Spirit. Even if it might be difficult to see sometimes, let Jesus feed you and strengthen you so that you might be refreshed to live in this world.
