In Isaiah 55:2, God indicts us with a powerful question: “Why do you labor for that which does not satisfy?” This reveals that we spend our money, time, and energy on things which don’t matter. In fact, they usually make things worse. Today we look at three other places where God makes the same accusation. This helps us see that this is a perpetual problem for mankind, and none of us is exempt from this temptation. The key learning is to remember that, when we are unsatisfied with life, when it feels like we are working hard and not getting what we want, it is because we are working for the wrong things!
