Mark 1:35-39  (NIV)
35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. 36 Simon and his companions went to look for him, 37 and when they found him, they exclaimed: “Everyone is looking for you!” 38 Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else—to the nearby villages—so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.” 39 So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.

U  – Use it; apply the truth from the text in your life

Lord, I know I am often too busy to take the time to listen to You. Even You set aside quiet prayer time in the morning. Forgive me that I try to get by on my own power and then wonder why I sometimes feel distant from You. Jesus, I desire for You to be first in my life and to seek your presence above all else. Help me be still today so that I can hear Your voice. Teach me to submit to Your Will daily so that Your presence becomes a driving force in all that I say and do. Amen
