Matthew 4:18-22 (NIV)
18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” 20 At once they left their nets and followed him. 21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.

Describe the way in which James & John gave themselves to the LORD.
Which text most speaks to you?
How might you still need to give yourself to the LORD?

You have been very good to me. You gave me skills that allow me to not only get jobs but to build upon them to create a diverse career over the years. It is very easy in this society to get worth and identity from jobs we do and the titles we achieve in our careers but often times it is at the expense of our identity as a child of Yours.  I hear about people who have lost their business, their career, and their livelihood because they followed You and Your teachings. That’s a tough one. Often Christians become chameleons in the workplace so that they can fit in and stay under the radar.  Lord help my identity be in You and not my position. Help me to follow You and to do Your will as I love people and serve people in Your name wherever I go and whatever I do even if it is not the popular thing to do because it is the right thing to do. Amen
