Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Reflect on how God has been with you through times of transition
Lord forgive me when I desire to hang on to what is “known” and shy away from that which is “unknown”. Change can be hard. It can be overwhelming, confusing and downright scary. But I can’t avoid change, it happens in all areas of my life. As a parent, a spouse, in careers, finances, health, in my body as I age, spirituality and in how I am called to serve You, I enter into different seasons that shift my life to uncharted territories. Each new season feels uncomfortable and frustrating as things familiar become unfamiliar. I sometimes wish I could turn around and go back to the comfortable things when I see a huge mountain in my future path. Help me to shift my focus from the size of the mountain to the sufficiency of the mountain mover and help me to step forward in obedience. Prepare me to be obedient by reading the Word, in prayer and listening to good teaching. Surround me with fellow Christians who can encourage and share similar experiences and use me to do the same for others. Help fear to not rob me of the blessings that You have planned for me but take each step forward rejoicing that You are with me wherever I go. Amen
