Exodus 2:23-25 (ESV)

God Hears Israel’s Groaning
23 During those many days the king of Egypt died, and the people of Israel groaned because of their slavery and cried out for help. Their cry for rescue from slavery came up to God. 24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. 25 God saw the people of Israel—and God knew.

To the people of Israel God seems to be absent. “Is God really listening to our cries? Does God really care about the pain and suffering we are enduring?” These and many more questions must have been stirring throughout the minds and hearts of the Israelites. But even when it seems God is absent the Bible tells us that He is not. We are told that God is listening and that God knows. When God seems far away ask that He would remember his promises to listen, be present in your life, and give you new life through the power of the resurrection of His son, Jesus.
