Matthew 11:29-30 (NIV)
29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

From these verses, what benefits are derived from humility?

Which of the following or other benefits have you received?

Lord, I try so hard to do the right thing. I work hard, I serve others. I give of myself. I try to take care of others. I make sure that the chores are done, that everyone is taken care of. I try to make everyone happy and reduce conflict. I have such a heavy burden on my shoulders, that I can’t continue to carry. I need Your gentle and humble heart to minister to me. I need to submit to You and give You my burdens and follow Your example, listen to Your Word and do Your will. I need to let go and to trust that You have all things in Your hands and that it all doesn’t depend on my efforts. I can rest in Your love and do the things that You empower me to do and do them with joy and leave the rest. I need to humble myself to allow others to help me, for others to serve me and for others to share the load. Forgive me, Lord, for my pride.  Thank you that you promise me rest for my soul. I come to you today. I give to you my burdens. Amen
