Proverbs 13:12 (NIV)
12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.

In what/whom is our hope?
Describe the hope referred to in each text below. Think about it a while.

Lord, when I have long periods of pain, sickness or trouble and see no results after submitting my concerns to You in prayer, I admit that I become disheartened at times. My attitude also has a tendency to become somewhat bitter, disillusioned and filled with despair. Lord, please forgive me. One Thousand Years is like a day to you and so I know that my waiting is short compared to Your eternal timing but Lord, my suffering seems so very long to me. Help me to persevere and continue to trust in You.  Change my perspective to consider Your timing as I wait and help me look for Your will in the situation instead of mine. You have been faithful in the past and I believe that You will not fail me now.  I know that when You fulfill my prayer it will be better than I could have imagined and the joy will be so sweet. My hope is in You Lord. Amen
