Luke 19:41-44 (NIV)
41 As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it 42 and said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes. 43 The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. 44 They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you.”

How has God shown compassion toward you?  Others you know?

To which Bible text above can you most relate?  In what way?

Do you deserve God’s compassion?  Why or why not?

On whom, if anyone, do you have compassion?  For what reason?  How have you shown it?

Are any of those upon which you have compassion people you don’t know, don’t like, or of which you are afraid?  If not, what could you do to experience an attitude change?

Lord, how You loved the people in the place where you lived. You must also weep over the disobedience of the people in the culture of today. Yet you have compassion on all people; past, present, and future, and You loved them with Your life. Lord, give me that same compassion for the people who live in the place where I live. Allow your power to be the source of blessing to the world. Amen.
