Genesis 12:1-3 (NIV)
The Call of Abram
12 The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. 2 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse, and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”
Is God calling you to a new roll or place at this time? Are you open to hearing His call?
Holy Father, Abram trusted You to direct him while not knowing where he was going, but he relied on You to show him the way to get there one step at a time. Help me to trust You to direct my life, one step at a time. Expand my heart in love and obedience to follow your directions and to spread Your blessings along the journey. When You send me out, help me to realize that You have a greater purpose and it’s not all about me. Your promise of blessing incorporates blessings to others. Bless me and our church so that we can be a blessing to others in our church community, to those we serve locally, nationally and globally. Help us not keep Your blessing for our own indulgence but share it generously with others. I don’t know all the places you want me to go or where You want to use me, Lord, but I pray that where ever and whatever it is, that people will be blessed through me. Lord today I lay my requests before you and wait for directions. Amen
