Colossians 3:1-4 (NIV)
Living as Those Made Alive in Christ
3 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Being a military family, we change our address rather often. As such, the military maintains a secondary type of address that indicates our original home base. They call this our “Home of Record”. Our Home of Record has little impact on us while the government moves us around. They can still move us anywhere on the planet, yet, they always know where we’re from. As Christians, our Home of Record is set to heaven. We are bound to Christ in an eternal way. No matter where we are on this great globe, no matter our current circumstance, we are tethered to God. When life is filled with joy, sing his praise. When days are difficult, hold tight to the truth that you belong to God and that he stands with you in sorrow, pain, and confusion. Your Home of Record will not change.
