Isaiah 66:1-2  (NIV)
66 This is what the Lord says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be? 2 Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?” declares the Lord. “These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word.

What action does humility take in these verses? What action may you need to take?

Forgive me, Lord, for I am a sinner. I cannot offer You anything to make up for my sins. I am nothing compared to Your awesome Glory, Splendor, and Majesty.  I feel good about our church, our facility, the things that we do in the church, how we serve. I love our church and my friends, the support I get from the church. It feels good. These things are all wonderful, but Lord, help me not get too comfortable in them. Help me to remember that it’s not about, all that we do in it, what we receive from it, or how we feel because of it, but rather it is all about You. It is about Your love and faithfulness that brings us together in recognition of our condemning sinfulness. We could not save ourselves, but while we were still sinners, You loved us so much to give Your life for us on that brutal cross so that we can be with You for eternity.  When I really consider that magnitude of that deed, of Your great love and how I contributed to Your pain on that cross, it truly makes me tremble. It makes assembling together in worship as a part of Your church body, such a humbling but beautiful experience. Thank You, Lord, for Your Mercy and Grace. Thank You, Lord, for the church. Help my focus be on You above all other things. Amen
