What is a Spiritual Gift?

All people have been given talents and abilities. When these abilities are used to bring glory to God, they become "Spiritual Gifts". They are received through our baptism and used to build up the Body of Christ and grow God's Kingdom.

To learn more about Spiritual Gifts, the following Bible passages are suggested.

There are many gifts and all of God's gifts are important!

ELCA Spiritual Gifts Inventory is a self-assessment of 60 general questions, which will help you identify which gifts you have received in greatest measure. You can take this inventory two ways:

Explore your feelings about each of the gifts that you discover through taking the inventory. As you use your spiritual gifts, pay close attention to the results produced through your efforts and listen for affirmation from other Christians. Use your gifts in all aspects of your life!
